New Bobcat Enrollment

Your First-Semester Schedule, Simplified.

What Is New Bobcat Enrollment?

New Bobcat Enrollment is a simple process that prepares you for classes for your first semester at Texas State. By sharing a few details about your credits, major, and test scores, you’ll help us design a first-semester course plan for you.

Heads-up: This isn’t a full advising session. Instead, it’s a way to get you enrolled so you can dive into life at Texas State. You’ll meet with an academic advisor later for more in-depth planning.

Your Questions, Answered

  • New Bobcat Enrollment (NBE) is a streamlined way to enroll you in classes for your first semester. Full advising, which comes later, is where you’ll discuss long-term academic goals, career plans, and any major changes in detail.

  • No. After we receive your New Bobcat Enrollment Profile, we will design a course recommendation plan and enroll you in courses, lift your New Student Advising hold, and email you with this information and registration resources.

You can modify your schedule at that time with the course recommendation plan created as a guide.

  • We highly encourage you to become Enrollment Ready and complete your New Bobcat Enrollment Profile as soon as possible to secure your first semester courses.

If you are not enrolled by your in-person NSO date, our team will assist you with the process when you are on campus for NSO.

  • Yes. New Student Orientation is a required and important component of your enrollment at Texas State. At NSO, you are introduced to Texas State's vibrant community, learn about the support and resources you can access as a student, and connect with other new Bobcats!

Failure to attend NSO will result in a hold on your account. If you were already enrolled in courses, you will be dropped from these courses and will not be allowed to reenroll until you attend an NSO session.

  • You can begin NBE once you’re marked “Enrollment Ready” (after signing up for New Student Orientation and completing your housing requirement). Our team aims to prepare your schedule before you attend NSO so you can feel confident in your classes when orientation arrives.

  • To proceed with enrollment, we need some TSI records—passing scores, partial scores, or an official exemption—on file. If we don’t have them, your enrollment will be paused until we do. These scores ensure we place you in the correct level of courses.

  • We’ll email you once we finalize your schedule and remove your New Student Advising Hold. At that point, you can see your course recommendation plan in the NavigateTXST app, the classes we enrolled you in your Texas State Self-Service system, and make any changes by consulting your plan and utilizing our registration resources.

  • If you have questions about the course recommendations plan provided, you can contact our office.

If you have registration-related questions or are having issues registering for courses, please contact the TXST One Stop.

We have created an easy-to-follow page to help determine how to get the help you need.
