Become Enrollment Ready
Overview
Before you can fill out your New Bobcat Enrollment Profile, you must first become “Enrollment Ready.”
TSI Note: You can still become Enrollment Ready even if you don’t have passing TSI scores. However, TSI scores or exemptions must be on file before we can finalize your enrollment plan. If TSI status is missing, your enrollment workflow may pause until we receive those scores or proof of exemption.
What to Do
- Sign Up for NSO: Check available dates and secure your spot. NSO helps you learn about campus resources, meet fellow Bobcats, and prep for your first semester.
- Fulfill Housing Requirements: If you are living on campus, submit your housing contract. If you are requesting to live off campus, submit your exemption request for review.
You can access these requirements via your portal.
Helpful Advice
- Sign Up ASAP: NSO spots can fill quickly. Reserve early for the date that works for you.
- Stay Updated: Check your TXST Admissions Status Portal for updates on the process.
- Reach Out: Unsure about your TSI requirements? Contact the TSI office to confirm what’s needed.
Common Questions
-
Why do I have to sign up for NSO and housing before starting NBE?
Signing up for NSO and completing your housing requirements tells us you have taken concrete steps to attend Texas State. These steps also help us confirm your living arrangements. Once both are done, we will open your New Bobcat Enrollment Profile so you can continue the process.
-
I’m not living on campus—do I still need to do anything for housing?
Yes. If you’re living off-campus, you must have this approved by Housing and Residential Life and have your record updated for the New Bobcat Enrollment Profile to appear in your portal.
-
What if I’m missing TSI scores or an exemption?
You can still become “Enrollment Ready,” but we can’t fully enroll you in classes until the TSI info is on file. That might mean your course placement is delayed until we receive those scores or exemptions.
