Enrolling in Summer Courses

Enrolling in summer courses at another institution will require more steps to ensure a seamless transition. Please ensure you understand the following:

  • There is a separate financial aid process for summer courses. Contact the Financial Aid office at the institution you plan on taking summer courses through to ensure you meet their deadlines.
  • Course numbers will be different at other institutions. Use the transfer course equivalency guide to verify how courses will transfer to TXST.
  • Once you finish the classes, you must have a copy of your transcript sent to Texas State so that credit can be applied to your degree.

Your First-Year Advisor will provide you with initial guidance. Still, we highly recommend you contact an admissions representative from your summer institution for further guidance on their application and enrollment process.

List the name of the two or four year institution. For example, Austin Community College.
Each class is typically 3 hours.
Please include the course prefix and number - ex. ENG 1310

Proposed Fall Enrollment

After reviewing your Degree Audit and Undergraduate Catalog, how many hours do you want to plan for fall?

Note: Our advisors will create a plan in NavigateTXST that will include recommended courses based on your enrollment plans. This plan accounts for any previously  completed coursework and identifies classes to prioritize for the coming semester. Our advisors will also include alternative courses/additional options required for your degree so that you can modify your plans as needed.
