Registration Assistance at New Student Orientation

Welcome to the Bobcat Family!

First-Year Advising is excited to help you register for your first semester at Texas State!

Your New Student Advising hold is removed once you've completed the New Bobcat Advising process. You can complete this in one of two ways:

  1. You became Advising Ready and submitted your New Bobcat Advising Worksheet by December 29. A class plan has been created for you, and you've been enrolled in a part-time or full-time schedule.
  2. You are not Advising Ready or submitted your New Bobcat Advising Worksheet by December 29. You will be advised and receive registration assistance this afternoon.

Which are you?

  • Visit us in Boko's Advising Help Lab from 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. in Derrick Hall, room 114. Ask an Orientation Leader or use the map below for assistance.

You should visit the lab if you have completed advising and meet one of the following criteria:

    • Have not registered for any courses.
    • Are registered for less than 12 hours (full-time).
    • Want assistance adjusting your course schedule.

A First-Year Advisor will work with you to register for courses during this time.

  • Please alert a First-Year Advising team member at check in or a New Student Orientation staff member. You may need to be given a timeslot to attend advising with an advisor.

  • You've been assigned a time to meet with a First-Year Advisor this afternoon to make an academic advising plan for your first semester.

After meeting with the advisor, you will go to Boko's Advising Help Lab to receive assistance with registering for courses.
